Who we are

The Journey

In 2010, The Chapel took a significant step in expanding our reach within the WNY community by planting The Chapel at Lockport. Through God’s perfect timing and the building of meaningful relationships, we first launched in the Palace Theater. After a number of years, we then transitioned to the former St. Mary’s Church and School building, which is where we currently reside and gather today. In 2016, the former Friendly’s restaurant became available for public auction and a generous donation allowed us to acquire this building by God’s grace.

What was initially given as extra parking soon became a vacant building in the heart of our community, sitting unused for some time. Yet, God had bigger plans for this space. Through countless discussions with key local stakeholders, as well as significant time and investment, the first phase of the project is now complete. What was once a vacant building, donated for parking, is now ready to become something far more meaningful.

The Lock City Center is now complete in its first phase - a community hub designed to serve Lockport in a dynamic way. This center will serve as a space where we can reach the city with opportunities to hear, see, and respond to the gospel of Jesus Christ. Through a variety of programs, events, and other initiatives, our desire is to make a lasting impact for years to come. We invite you to read below for more information on this exciting space!

A little about us…

The Lock City Center exists to love and serve the Lockport community in Jesus’ name. Everything we do flows from a desire to see the Gospel lived out in both word and action so that lives are genuinely transformed. Our goal is to reflect the love of Jesus Christ so that everyone in Lockport - regardless of background or circumstance - can experience lasting hope no matter what they are walking through.

Because of this we are Compelled by the Gospel to provide love, care, and compassion in Jesus' name to every man, woman and child of Lockport. By caring for people and offering necessary resources, our hope is for every person to experience true life transformation.

This mission is at the heart of everything we do. It shapes how we interact with our neighbors, serve our community, and make Lockport a place where the gospel is not just heard but seen.
